About BenefitDial

The benefits utility that doesn't want your phone number.

BenefitDial is an independent website that helps you get through the fall benefits season — your Social Security cost-of-living raise and your Medicare plan changes — with the actual numbers, fast. We don't sell insurance, we're not a broker, and we will never ask you to "speak with a licensed agent." You get the answer and you're done.

Why we built this

The opposite of a robocall.

Every autumn, the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (October 15 – December 7) turns into a storm. Television fills with commercials. The phone rings with recorded voices. The mailbox overflows with envelopes stamped to look official. Almost all of it is built to do one thing: get you to hand over your phone number so a call center can reach you.

We think that's backwards. When your 2027 Social Security raise and your Medicare plan changes both land in the same few weeks, what you need isn't another salesperson — it's two plain numbers you can trust. What is my raise, really, after Medicare Part B is taken out? And what changed in the plan I already have?

So we built the opposite of a lead funnel. BenefitDial gives you those numbers in under a minute, straight from public government files, with no form to fill in and no one waiting to call you back. That's the whole idea.

How we're different from the brokers

Same season, very different business.

Plenty of the "free" Medicare help you'll find online is really a lead-generation business. That's legal and often well-meaning — but it's worth understanding the difference, because it shapes what happens to your information.

BenefitDial

You look up a number and leave. We take no commissions from insurers or brokers, capture no personal information — no name, email, or phone — and sell no leads. We're supported only by the display ads on the page, like a newspaper. We point you to the official Medicare Plan Finder or 1-800-MEDICARE to actually enroll.

Independent · ad-supported

A typical lead-gen funnel

A "free comparison" or "check your eligibility" form asks for your phone number first. That contact information is the product: it's routed to a call center, or sold to several agents, who are paid a commission when you enroll. The help is real, but it isn't neutral — and the calls often keep coming.

Commission-based · captures your info

We're not saying brokers are bad — many are helpful, and some people prefer that hands-on service. We're just built differently, on purpose.

How we make money — plainly

We run ads. That's it.

BenefitDial is free to use. We pay for it the same way a newspaper does: with standard display advertising served automatically on the page. When you visit, the ads help cover our costs. There's nothing more to it, and there's nothing you have to do.

Here's what we deliberately don't do, and why it matters:

  • We accept no commissions. No insurance company or broker pays us when you enroll in a plan. We have no reason to steer you toward one plan over another.
  • We sell no leads. Your visit doesn't turn into a phone call. We don't have your contact information to sell, because we never collect it.
  • We take no payment to recommend a plan. BenefitDial will never tell you a specific plan is "best for you" in exchange for money. We show you the public numbers and let you decide.

Why we chose the harder path

Running on ads alone earns less than selling leads would. We accept that trade on purpose. It keeps us independent — no carrier gets a say in what we show you — and it keeps us out of the insurance sales chain entirely. We're a reference tool, not a middleman.

Our promises to you

What we will never do.

Some commitments are easier to keep when they're written down. These are ours:

  • We'll never ask for your phone number or email. There is no sign-up, no "get your free quote," no callback request anywhere on this site.
  • We'll never sell your data. The calculators run entirely in your browser, so the numbers you type never reach us in the first place.
  • We'll never push a specific plan for pay. No plan is "sponsored," "recommended," or "featured" because someone paid us. We don't take that money.
  • We'll never pretend to be the government. BenefitDial is independent and not affiliated with Medicare, CMS, or the Social Security Administration. For enrollment, always use the official Medicare Plan Finder or call 1-800-MEDICARE.

See it for yourself

Want the details behind the numbers? Our How it works page shows exactly which public files we use — CMS Landscape and Crosswalk data for Medicare, and CPI-W from the BLS and the COLA from the SSA. Our privacy pledge spells out, in plain terms, what we do and don't collect.

Common questions about us

Are you part of Medicare or the government?

No. BenefitDial is a private, independent website. We use the same public data the government publishes — CMS files for Medicare, and SSA and BLS figures for the Social Security COLA — but we're not affiliated with any government agency. To enroll or get official answers, use the Medicare Plan Finder or call 1-800-MEDICARE.

Is BenefitDial really free? Where's the catch?

It's genuinely free, and there's no catch. We're paid by the display ads on the page — nothing else. You never enter payment information, and you never have to give up your name, email, or phone number to use any of our tools.

Will an agent call me after I use your tools?

No. We don't collect your phone number, so there's no one to pass it to. Our calculators run inside your web browser and send nothing back to us. Using BenefitDial will not put you on any call list.

Do you get paid if I pick a certain plan?

No. We take no commissions from insurers or brokers and accept no payment to recommend a plan. Every number we show comes from public CMS files, and we never label a plan as "best" or "sponsored." The choice is entirely yours.
